BC Dhaulaghiri 19.10.We were trying to pack all of our expedition material, dig our tents out of the snow. It was constantly snowing and the tents were covered in snow all the time. This weather was just reassuring us about the decision we made.

19.10.2006 - Dhaulaghiri BCWe were sitting in the BC and our feet were freezing. We were at least in the height of 6000 m up to our knees deep in the snow. We tried to decide if we should go back into the wall or go back home. I wouldn't forgive myself if I wouldn't even try once again to go for it.

BC Dhaulaghiri 9.10.2006Today we went from BC to CI. The glacier at the bottom was completely changed, thankfully for better. Right there I met Sylwia from Polish group and we went through the glacier together. At the end of the glacier we waited for the rest of the guys.

BC Dhaulaghiri 6.10. 2006It was 4th of October 9, 2006 a little bit after 6 o'clock in the morning. We were ready for our next adventure. Even though we tried to pack very lightly, at the end we packed quite heavy after all. We had to carry with us also a 100 m long fixed rope brand TENDON, it was 7mm thick and 1,5m long bamboo polls with reflective flags are sticking out of our backpacks.

One more email about the story how we climbed from Camp I to Camp II and back to the Base Camp.We spent the night in 5 600m. The night went pretty well. I personally can never sleep too well on any expeditions and this one was not exception. Kamil slept pretty well and Roman had like the only person from our group pills for sleeping. Next morning I tried to gently wake them up, even though I didn't feel like getting up myself either. Fortunately we built our tent's door to the east so the sun helped to wake us up after all. That was a very nice morning.

Base Camp Dhaulaghiri 3.10. - 23:00 local timeLife of a professional rock climber is not really easy. Everybody is already asleep, only I am still up. I am sowing sponsors' logos on our stuff and writing emails about our updates. After that I still have to pack up before the trip. Tomorrow we have to get up at 4:00 in the morning and we would be gone for about 4 to 6 days. I just hope I don't forget anything, it is very important climb, and maybe we will even reach the top!

Dhaulaghiri 2.10. - Base campHi there, here we are in the "comfort" of the base camp again. Our friend Ruda is very exhausted and he would like to escape back to the safety of the civilization. I am not really surprised about that. The differences in living qualities between camps are really great, almost incomparable. We can finally change our clothes after a many days of usage. Finally we also change our shoes. The plastic, sweaty boots that we wear for many days are switched for much more comfortable HI-TEC sandals during the day or winter shoes in the evening. We are still camping on the glacier that is why we need winter shoes.

28th of September - Base camp in Dhaulaghiri.I wanted to write about our climb to the base camp. Anyway we still don't have an electricity and time to spend for writing so I will just get to the point. I would like to give a great compliment to both of our main partners on expedition HI-TEC and HIGH POINT. The weather condition that we had to go through was really unbelievable. More story about this trip after we wouldn't be able to climb anymore.

Dhaulaghiri, base camp at 4 800m.We finally made it to the base camp. It was much more difficult trip than we expected. It cost us more time and energy. I personally thought that we would be here already on 22nd of September. In Kathmand we decided on 27th of September. Long story short, how it was I will let you know next time. Right at that time I am sitting on the floor in my tent and I write on my lap only with a head lamp - not really the best conditions for writing.

It is 22nd of September 2006 - Marpha 2 670m.It looks like we had a great luck. Even though we left couple of days later than I planed, however everything worked out for our favor. Our flight from Pokhary to Jomosom was good. We had great view at Annapurns, Daulahirs, Manasla, and Nilgiri. unbelievable beauty. Next day the weather got much worse and airplanes didn't land any more. Today was a rainy day, the wind blow and on the mountain snowed. Thank God that we had a chance to go for an acclimatization trip yesterday.

Expedice HIGH POINT & HI-TEC PERU 2006 [27.08.2006, 08:50]
La Esfinge 5 325 m and Artesonraj 6 025m + deathWhen we finished climb of Nevado Pisca 5 752 m which was very difficult, we decided to have a nice rest for couple of days. During those days the weather also wasn’t too friendly to us anyway, possibly just for a visit in a local pub instead of climbing. Fortunately we have a thermal spring not too far from here :-). 40 degrees hot water in the height if 3 000 m is more or less asking for a heart attack, however our acclimatization at that time was already OK.

Hello First Time from PeruEvery adventure brings little bit of complication, and our adventure is no exception to the rule. We spent the night in hourly hotel in Lime. It is not that hourly hotel as you might think :-) We just had to stay in that shady place only because a taxi driver overcharged the cost of our bill right on the airport. Later we arrived in Huaraza and after that in Yungay.

Expedice High Point - HI-TEC Peru 2006Hello everybody. I hope that when the time comes and you would be reading those lines, we would be already on our way to the mountains. You can admire pictures of those mountains through Jiři Lakosils' camera. Such a small world. This fellow climed in Peru already in spring 2006. The funny part is that we met on the airport in Venezuela in 2001. At that time I flew with Martin Koukal to Huascaran in Peru.
